Ranchi, Jan.6: As many as 10 Covid-19 patients returned from Sadar Hospital after they recovered.

Medical officer of the hospital co-ordinating with media Dr Ajit Kumar informed this saying while 10 returned from the hospital after recovery, 17 new Covid-19 patients were admitted.

“With new admission and 10 discharges, the number of Covid patients at Sadar Hospital reached 23. Despite occupancy of 23 beds, as many as 197 more beds are available for Covid-19 patients at Sadar Hospital,” Dr Ajit, who is also suffering from Covid-19 and working in home isolation, said.

President of RIMS Junior Doctors Association, Dr Vikas Kumar, who is suffering from Covid-19, told Lagatar24.com that so far over 180 doctors and paramedical staff of RIMS have got infected.

Thus when asked Dr Ajit regarding the positivity figure of Sadar Hospital, he said that out of 70 doctors as many as 15 including him have got infected so far.

Asked about severity both Dr Ajit and Dr Vikas said severity is less.

“I am in home isolation just to follow Covid-19 protocol otherwise I am in a position to work,” Dr Ajit, who got infected in the first wave also, said.

Dr Vikas echoed him saying ‘I am recovered and just regaining strength to work in a better way.”

Dr Vikas, however, said the government is required to take action matching its mission.

“Government should immediately do something for the booster dose. When I raised the demand, I was told that it will start from January 10 and I think the delay will cost dearly as I feel that till date the figure of positivity among doctors will increase several times,” Dr Vikas said.
