1450 Ranchi villages, 1500 East Singhbhum villages selected for ‘Covid-19 Mukt Gaon’ initiative by Jharkhand govt and USAID

Ranchi, May 30: A total of 1450 villages from 18 blocks in Ranchi and 1500 villages from 11 blocks in East Singhbhum have been chosen for the ‘Covid-19 Mukt Gaon’ initiative, for which ChildFund India hosted a pre-launch workshop meeting.

The proposed project would be supported by the United States Agency International Development (USAID) and carried out in collaboration with the NHM Jharkhand and the Jharkhand government’s health department.

Following proposals have been put forward through this project in the two districts of the state:

  • Revamping PHCs and CHCs  through the availability of basic medical equipment and infrastructure support
  • Establishing Child-friendly facilities at urban Paediatric treatment centres.
  • Accessible teleconsultation for Mental Health Support  and Covid care
  • Mass awareness of COVID-19 & Vaccination
  • Health system resilience building

ChildFund India (CFI) is a child-development organization working in India since 1951 with the vision “An India where children lead a dignified life and achieve their full potential”.

The organization has its presence in 15 states through long term partnerships and programs and it annually reaches out to nearly 4 million children, youth and families in the most hard-to-reach rural areas & urban slums.

ChildFund India is implementing a Covid-19 Response project in Jharkhand in the district of Ranchi & E. Singhbhum.

Representatives of WHO (District Level), PHIA Foundation, Childline, and JSI attended this meeting and expressed their opinion. They also proposed possible joint efforts and collaboration at the community level to work toward covid-19 free villages.
