Ranchi, Aug.22: Criminals too faced a crisis of skilled hands for their job in the present scenario.
It came to the fore after police arrested two, Amanat Hussain and Hafizul Ansari, with firearms from Ring Road under Nagri police station area in the Jharkhand capital when they were chalking out a strategy to target a land dealer of the locality and one of them shared his problem to the police team interrogating them.
“Amanat has a criminal record. He is notorious. He was earlier sent to jail in a loot case registered at Pithoria police station. During interrogation, he told us that his financial condition had deteriorated as he was not getting a suitable hand to work with him. When he got Hafizul, a youth of his village Chadki Dumri under Narkopi police station area, suitable he became active,” a police official said.
“For job, all are in search of suitable hands,” the official added laughing.
Asked how dangerous were those arrested, the police official said Amanat had connections with PLFI.
“Amanat told us that he had purchased firearms for committing a crime from a PLFI extremist in Simdega, Mohammed Shoeb, whom police had already killed in an encounter,” the police official said.
Asked the police official how the breakthrough came, he said: “Our spy passed on the information regarding movement of criminals in a car in Nagri area and we accordingly informed the SSP. On the direction of the SSP, Nagri OC intercepted the indicated car and arrested him.”
S.P.(rural) Naushad Alam confirmed the arrest saying ‘proper legal action is being taken against them. They had connections with the PLFI but they are not extremists.’ Asked to whom they had come to target, he refused to name the prey citing security reasons.
