Jamshedpur, March 2:  The 33rd National Road Safety Month -2022 organised in a virtual mode concluded at Tata Steel last evening.

National Road Safety Month (NRSM) is observed under the guidance of the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

The National Safety Council supplements the government’s initiative by promoting road safety campaigns across the country.

During the month-long celebrations, various activities were conducted to make the workforce aware of the pressing road safety concerns and reinforce safety behaviours to minimize road-related incidents and injuries.

Exemplary safety performances among employees, contractor employees and vendor partners were recognized and awarded accordingly.

Sanjiv Paul, vice-president, Safety, Health and Sustainability thanked the Tata Workers Union for its continuous support in all safety initiatives of the company and explained how the safety performance has improved over 15 years in the safety excellence journey.

Peeyush Gupta, Vice President, Supply Chain said, “We all have to imbibe the theme Sadak Suraksha-Jeevan Raksha.”

He added safe behaviour practiced by employees is like a gift to colleagues, family and friends. He pointed out the key challenges and asked everyone to improve driving behaviour.

During the event, two short safety videos on specific road safety themes were screened for spreading road safety awareness among stakeholders.
