Jamshedpur, Sept 8: A 34-year-old man was killed as the car he was driving was hit by a trailer on Court Road under the Bistupur Thana area early on Friday morning.

Identified as Kunal Bharadwaj, the victim was rescued by the police and rushed to Tata Main Hospital, where the doctors on emergency duty declared him dead.

The mishap took place in front of the Red Cross Bhawan as the victim was returning home at Baradwari from Bistupur.

The trailer driver, however, managed to escape the scene leaving the heavy vehicle at the mishap scene.

There was a head-on collision between the car and the trailer and the impact of the collision was so intense that to the front of the car was completely damaged.

The police seized both vehicles and registered a case against the trailer driver after shifting the body to the MGM Medical College mortuary for postmortem.

It may be mentioned here that there are dividers at most of the stretches of the important roads, but the stretch starting from Jubilee Park’s Sakchi gate up to Baug-e-Jamsheed School is without a divider.
