Ranchi, Feb 23: As many as four districts of the state, including Dumka, Godda, Simdega and Pakur have become corona free with no active cases of covid infection. At the same time, Sadar Hospital, Ranchi has also become covid free with no covid patients in the hospital while Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences has one case of Covid-19.

The total number of active caseloads has decreased to 620 with 62 fresh covid cases reported on Tuesday while 86 got recovered with no fatality.

On the other hand, two districts, including Ranchi and East Singhbum have a maximum load of active covid cases with 205 and 100 cases respectively.

At the same time, no case of death has been reported in the state since February 14 restricting the death toll mark to 5,315.

Ranchi district remains at the bottom in the first dose vaccination among the 18 plus age group where the most populous district has administered 19,69,579 people with the first dose taking the vaccination percentage to 86%.

According to the health bulletin published on Tuesday, 12 districts of the state have administered 100%  first doses of vaccination among the 18 plus age group.

The Ranchi District vaccination in charge Dr Shashi Bhushan Khalkho said that during the early phase of the vaccination as the slots were unavailable due to heavy bookings for the vaccination the people of the districts took the vaccination in the nearby districts.

“Ranchi is the most populous city so it is very well possible that a lot of people might have taken vaccination elsewhere because of which low percentage is reflected in the data,” Dr Khalkho said.

On the question of whether the data will be corrected so that the real vaccination percentage is reflected, he said that it is not possible as at the time of vaccination the address is not mentioned so it is nearly impossible to get the real data.

“There might be several people who are suffering from various diseases or because of pregnancy they might have not taken the vaccination,” he said.

On the question of vaccination among adolescents, he said that vaccination among the 15 plus age group is continuously going on by forming clusters of schools. A letter has also been issued to the school authorities in this regard.

According to the recent data, Ranchi stands in the red zone among the 15-17 age group vaccination with 49% being administered with the first dose and 14% with the second dose.

Kodarma district tops the list with 76% of the population getting their first shot among the 15-17 age group while Dhanbad districts remain at the bottom with only 39% vaccination.

In the 18 plus age group, Khunti district tops the list with 114% first dose of vaccination and 84% of the second dose.
