Ranchi, Aug 20: Forty passengers sustained injuries as a bus on its way to Korwa in Chhatisgarh from Bihar’s Patna capital fell into a pond at Karau Kala village, about 16 km from the district headquarters under Garhwa police station area of Garhwa district.

The incident took place in the wee hour when the driver of Rajhans Bus somehow lost his control and the bus flipped by side.

A locality resident informed this saying former MLA Satyendra Nath Tiwari swung into action as he came to know about the accident and villagers came for the rescue of passengers.

“All passengers were safely taken out from the pond as the water was limited due to no rain in the locality,” the resident said.

The resident said that the bus was running on Belchampa-Childag road when the incident took place.

Superintendent of police of the district Anjani Kumar Jha could not be available for his comment on the matter.
