Pathanamthitta, March 28: A bus carrying Tamil Nadu pilgrims to Sabarimala fell into a gorge today in the Pathanamthitta district, inflicting at least 62 injuries, some of which were critical.
According to the police, the incident happened while a bus carrying pilgrims was on its way home following a visit to the Lord Ayyappa shrine in Sabarimala.

About 1.30 PM, the bus went off the road and fell into the gorge in Elavunkal, close to Nilackal, injuring at least 64 passengers, nine of them were children. The pilgrims are from Tamil Nadu’s Mayiladuthurai area.
Authorities said that 62 of them had injuries, some of which were critical, and that they have since been sent to several hospitals in Pathanamthitta and Erumely.
