Patna, May 10: The Economic Offences Unit, (EOU) has detained the Block Development Officer, (BDO) from the Bhadra district of Bihar, due to his alleged involvement in the paper leak case for the 67th Combined Competitive Prelims Exam 2022.

The block development was seized by the Economic Offenses Unit at his Bhadra residence on Tuesday. The development comes after Bihar’s Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, declared that anybody implicated in the BPSC paper leak issue will face strict action.

BDO Bhadra Jaivardhan Gupta served as the test centre magistrate at Veer Singh College, when the question paper for the BPSC Prelims exam was allegedly rigged. He was detained at his home by the EOU team and transferred to Patna for further inquiry.

The BPSC 67th CCE Prelims 2022 were supposed to be held on May 8, 2022, however the Bihar Public Service Commission cancelled it due to a paper leak. DGP SK Singhal announced on Sunday that Set C of the BPSC Pre-Exam 2022 exam had reportedly been leaked.

Investigations are underway, and the Chief Minister has ordered that anyone involved face severe consequences. For almost 6 lakh candidates who had been waiting for the BPSC 67th CCE Prelims 2022, the exam was cancelled.
