Jamshedpur, June 9: Members of Mango Flat and Residential Society Association at a meeting here this morning decided to protest against the hike in holding tax by the Jharkhand government.

At the meeting, the members appealed to the local residents of Mango to attend a mass meeting scheduled to take place at a hall on Dimna Road on Saturday, June 11.

Local MLA and state health minister Banna Gupta will attend the meeting.

Notably, the Jugsalai Rent Payers Association took to the streets in Jugsalai on Wednesday protesting against a hike in holding tax.

A senior functionary of the association, Sardar Shailendra Singh said they decided not to pay the revised holding tax.

“We have also decided to move the court against the government decision so that people of the area may get some relief,” he said.

Several other outfits like Jugsalai Durga Bari Trust and Maharaja Ranjeet Singh Seva Dal also extended support to the agitation of rent payers.
