Ranchi, June 9: A five-day hands-on Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Advanced Research Methodology, with a focus on ‘Data Analysis using SPSS and Structural Equation Modelling’ was conducted at ICFAI University.
Several faculty members and PhD scholars from ICFAI University along with other universities and Business Schools participated in the workshop. The sessions were conducted online during the weekends in order to facilitate the participation of the working professionals.
During the welcome address, Prof O R S Rao, Vice-Chancellor of ICFAI University said, “Systematic Data Analysis using statistical tools and Effective Presentation of the results are critical aspects of Quality Academic Research in Social Sciences. The objective of the workshop is to equip the PhD Scholars and Research Supervisors, with data analysis skills, using advanced Statistical Techniques like Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) and software packages like SPSS, AMOS and SmartPLS to enable them to produce World Class academic research.”
“In order to impart hands-on skills, a unique Training Methodology is adopted by our faculty members, wherein Concept teaching and hands-on practice were coupled with the demonstration of the application of the same by distinguished researchers in their research papers,” added Prof Rao.
During the valedictory session, the participants appreciated how complex and advanced concepts were explained so that they could be easily understood by all, irrespective of their individual academic backgrounds.
The programme was coordinated by Dr Raj Kumar, Associate Professor of the ICFAI University. Sessions were conducted by Dr Hari Haran, Dr Sudipta Majumdar, Dr Raj Kumar and Dr Dilip Kumar, all from the University.
