Ranchi, June 10: Many auto-rickshaw drivers in Ranchi are having a tough time as the majority of fuel stations have a shortage of CNG. Due to this, long queues of autos are being seen lined up outside the gas station for hours.

Uttam Banerjee, a CNG auto-driver from Namkum informed lagatar24.com that it takes around 6 to 8 hours to wait at the fuel station in order to fill CNG. At times it even takes the whole day.

Similarly, Shamshad Ansari and Amardeep from Pandra said that they are having a tough time for the last three days due to a shortage of CNG at gas stations.

They said, “Hum neend bech ke Rupay kama rahe hai (We are earning money by selling our sleep),” and added that diesel was a much better option as compared to the eco-friendly option (CNG).

The workers at the CNG gas station in Kokar said that they had informed the company about the shortage of fuel in the station but yet there has been a delay from their end. Due to this, they too are facing a lot of issues.

“There was some issue at the Bokaro depot due to which there was a shortage of CNG in Ranchi. But it has been resolved and the stations in Ranchi will soon be getting the CNG supply,” informed the official from Chaddha Petrol Pump in Kokar.

Currently, there are a total of five CNG fuel stations in Ranchi situated at Kokar, Doranda, Harmu, Ormanjhi and Pandra. It is to be noted that there are more than 300 CNG auto-rickshaws in Ranchi and the number of petrol pumps is quite less.
