Dhanbad, June 15: Tension prevailed on Tuesday night in an area under Kumardhubi OP, around 46 km away from Dhanbad district headquarters, after objectionable posts of two minors on social media against a particular community went viral.

Kumardhubi police took swift action to control the situation by taking both the minors into custody for interrogation and assured the agitating people to take legal action against them.

Police officials said both the minors of the Shibliwadi area allegedly loaded an objectionable post on social media against a particular community. “Their mobile phones have been seized and an investigation is being done,” said Lalan Prasad Singh officer-in-charge of Kumardhubi OP.

As the post became viral in the evening on Tuesday, members of the particular community stormed the houses of both the accused in large numbers and began gherao alleging that their religious sentiment has been hit.

Having seen the situation going tense following the gherao of houses, social activist Mustkin informed Kumardhubi police about the situation. Kumardhubi OP officer-in-charge Lalan Prasad Singh reached the Shibliwadi immediately and picked up one of the accused from his house. Later on, another accused also surrendered at the police station.

The agitating community members reached Kumardhubi OP and began demonstrations there too for severe action against the accused.

One Javed Akhtar lodged a written complaint in a police station against both the accused alleging that the sentiment of community members has been aghast from the anti-religious post of both the boys.
