Dhanbad, June 23: A lecture ceremony was organized by the Hindi postgraduate (PG) department of PK Roy Memorial College Dhanbad. The theme of the lecture was ‘Literature Present and Past’. The Hindi PG department organized the lecture ceremony after two years on a large scale.
“Literature impacts era, condition and situation of the nation. So future generations would have to understand the importance of literature for society as well as the nation. An intellectual and positive approach-minded author can assess the situation properly,” said Dr Avichal Bharti, former principal of Laxmi Khetan College, Barahat (Banka) of Bihar while addressing a lecture ceremony as the chief guest.
Dr Bharti said literature reflects the present picture of an era, social circumstances and situation. “So the hour demands to depict the situation in a proper way which only a positive-minded author can do it. So the new generation has to focus on the positive creation of literature,” he said.
Prof (Dr) Bhagwan Pathak, head of the department, while addressing the event said students have a major role in making literature prosper which would help in removing social contradiction. “It is our responsibility how to encourage students and enhance their interest in literature by convincing them that literature is life and its prosperity is necessary for the prosperity of the society,” said Dr Pathak.
Hindi head of the department said litterateur has the capacity of changing society. “If we go with life and creation of great litterateurs Nirala and Premchandra it would clear that ‘Literature’ has proved a milestone in developing the society,” said Dr Pathak.
Dr Mukund Ravi Das while shedding light on the importance of literature in society said that time is variable. “Literature depicts in what shape the present society is going. Literature is not only a mirror of society but also ‘Dipak’ (light) which guides toward a healthy society,” said Dr Das.
Dr Rita Singh proposed a vote of thanks while Dr Mukund Ravi Das conducted the programme. Dr Mritunjay Kumar Singh also addressed the lecturer ceremony by presenting the importance of literature to society.
Research scholars Soni Kumari, Pandav Mahto, Rina Kumari and others attended the lecture.
