Ranchi, June 28: The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) today granted an aerodrome licence to the recently constructed Deoghar Airport in Jharkhand. The licence has been updated from 3C to 4C, allowing commercial aviation operations with aircraft up to and including the Airbus 321, Boeing 737, and comparable models. Airport Authority of India revealed this in a tweet.

The airport at Deoghar, located on 650 acres, is the second in the state after Ranchi. The airport has six check-in counters and a capacity of 200 passengers. It has been furnished with all contemporary amenities. A water harvesting system and solar energy have also been constructed at the airport. People from Dumka, Godda, Banka, and Bihar would have better and simpler access to transportation thanks to the airport.

The airport will make it simple for residents of Dumka, Godda, Banka, and Bihar to travel. It is a domestic airport with a 2,500-meter runway where Airbus A-320 and A-321 can land. It is 45 metres wide. It features four A-320 and A-321 parking bases. Apart from two arrival conveyor belts, a departure conveyor, and six check-in counters. Inside the terminal, X-ray machines, security measures, and CCTVs have also been put in place.
