New Delhi, July 3: Droupadi Murmu, the presidential candidate for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), will travel to Patna, Bihar, on July 5 to campaign for the July 18 presidential election.

She will meet with all senior BJP members during her stay in the state capital, including Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar. The Bihar BJP state unit is actively preparing for her reception in Patna.

The programme planned for Murmu would feature all of the prominent leaders of the BJP, Janata Dal (United), Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP), MLAs, and MPs, including Nitish Kumar, BJP state president Sanjay Jaiswal, and Ravi Shankar Prasad.

Since being nominated as a presidential candidate, Murmu has travelled to numerous states, including Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, where she has sought support for her candidacy.

According to sources, the NDA presidential candidate is anticipated to go to other states, where she would meet MPs and MLAs in the next few days.

Murmu travelled to Puducherry earlier on Saturday to solicit support from the parliamentarians of the Union Territory’s government coalition led by the AINRC.

She visited with Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy to ask for his support in running for president. Shiromani Akali Dal, a former BJP ally, declared on Friday that it will endorse Droupadi Murmu of the NDA in the presidential contest.
