Ranchi, July 3: Ahead of the crucial hearing of the PILs against Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the state government has filed a petition of perjury against petitioner Shiv Shankar Sharma.
The petition has been filed before Jharkhand High Court under section 340 of CrPC by Chandrabhushan Prasad who is an official of the department of the cabinet (Vigilance). The state government has claimed that the petitioner has made many false allegations in PIL no. 4290/2021. It has stated that the petitioner made a false statement against Sohrai Livestock Farms Private Limited, a company owned by CM’s wife Kalpana Murmu Soren and sister-in-law Sarla Murmu. The state industry department allocated 11 acres of land to the company for industrial purposes. But the lease was canceled later on. The state government alleged that the petitioner made the wrong statement about the net capital of the company and he made frivolous allegations regarding the land allotment.
The government alleged that the petitioner made a similar frivolous allegation that Neelam Construction was granted tender for the construction of ITI Pratapur in Chatra despite the company having submitted false documents. The government claimed that the company got the tender but later on the tender committee canceled the tender as the experience of the company could not be verified.
Raising another matter, the state government said that the petitioner misled the court about an alleged case of land grab in Ranchi by people close to the chief minister. The petitioner did it with the single intention to tarnish the image of the state government.
