Lucknow, July 9: Sadhna Gupta, the wife of Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav, passed away on Saturday.
Sadhna was taken to Gurgaon’s Medanta Hospital due to a lung infection. Four days ago, she was brought to a hospital in Gurugram.
Sadhna Gupta’s mortal remains are being transported to Lucknow, where they should arrive by late afternoon.
Keshav Prasad Maurya, the deputy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, sent his sympathies to Mulayam Singh Yadav and his family via Twitter.
“Received the sad news of the demise of Sadhna Gupta, wife of former Chief Minister Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav ji, may the Lord give place to the holy soul at his feet. Give courage to Mulayam Singh ji and his family members to bear this loss,” he wrote on Twitter.

The Samajwadi Party’s official account also posted a tweet expressing condolences on the passing of the wife of the party’s founder.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal also took to Twitter to express his condolences.
