Ramgarh, July 11: Wrestler Aditya Kumar, a resident of Toira, Mandu won bronze medal in the 48 kg category at the Asian Wrestling Championship held in Manama, Bahrain.
He has become the first wrestler from Jharkhand to win a medal in wrestling in this category. Aditya was honoured on Monday in a ceremony under the aegis of Abhijeet Fitness Mantra Gym near Kothar Fourlane.
AJSU’s MP Chandraprakash Choudhary was the chief guest during the event. Congratulating Singh, the MP expressed happiness over the achievement. While wishing him best for the future, he promised to extend all possible support.
The MP said,” It is a moment of pride. He has enhanced the honor of the state and country by winning at the international level. But the state government is insensitive towards such talents. Aditya Kumar should have been given a state honor for his unprecedented achievement. But sadly, the state government has not given respect till now.”
The MP said that the state government should encourage sportspersons by giving offering them government jobs with due respect.
Bronze medalist Aditya Kumar expressed his gratitude to all the people present including MP Chandraprakash Choudhary for being honoured. He has given the credit of success to the coach including parents.
His Parents and all the guests were also welcomed in the felicitation ceremony. Others also expressed their happiness over Aditya’s achievement and extended their best wishes.
