Jamshedpur, July 14: A subdued monsoon would result in light rainfall activity over Jharkhand on Thursday, predicted IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
Weathermen also issued an alert of moderate lightning accompanied by rain in some isolated areas today.
Several areas including Jamshedpur today woke up to clear weather conditions with bright sunshine.
Heavy humidity also resulted in high discomfort index in several districts.
“Monsoon is still weak over the state. We are expecting its revival after the next 72 hours, ” said a duty officer at Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
The Ranchi Met Centre also issued an alert of heavy rain on July 17 in northeastern and south-eastern parts of the state.
Meanwhile, the weak monsoon activity has resulted in a 48 per cent rain deficit in Jharkhand so far.
Against a normal of 316 mm of rain, Jharkhand as a whole so far actually received 164.3 mm, a deficit of 48 per cent.
