Jamshedpur reports 34 fresh cases of Coronavirus on Thursday

Jamshedpur, July 14 : Situation seems to be alarming as Jamshedpur today reported 34 fresh cases of Covid -19.

 

A bulletin issued by the East Singhbhum health department this evening stated that of 399 people, including men and women, who underwent Covid-19 test, 34 were found positive.

 

In all, 85 people underwent the RT PCR test, while seven people faced the Truenet test. The remaining 307 people underwent Rapid Antigen Test ( RAT ).

 

Chakulia block of East Singhbhum district reported 13 fresh cases of Covid – 19 on Thursday.

 

According to health department sources, in all 14 Covid patients recovered and were released from various hospitals on Thursday.

 

With this, the total number of active cases in Jamshedpur rose to 169. The positivity rate of Covid-19 reached 8.52 per cent on Thursday while the recovery rate stood at 98.19 per cent.

 

The district health department has again issued an advisory asking people to make use of masks and frequent use of hand sanitizers while they are away from home.

 

Health department officials said that such a large number of positive cases were found after a long time .

 

” Today’s report suggests that the virus is spreading in the steel city for which people need to take utmost care. They need to follow the necessary Covid protocols in order to check the spread of the disease, ” explained an official of the district Covid surveillance team.
