Daltonganj, July 18: Zishan Khan has been elected General Khalifa for the coming Muharram for the third time in Daltonganj.
Khan will now continue to lead the Muharram Inteezamiya Committee here which oversees the 10-day-long Muharram which falls in the coming month of August.
A press note issued on this occasion read the faithful today assembled at the Pahari Mohalla wherein Zishan Khan was elected General Khalifa unopposed.
There is a strong tradition here in Daltonganj wherein the Muharram Inteezamiya committee hosts a reception to the Mahavir Nav Yuvak Dal during the 9-day Ramnavmi festival while the Mahavir Nav Yuvak Dal reciprocates it with similar reception to the Muharram Inteezamiya committee in the Muharram.
A posse of police force led by the incharge town out post one R S Rana stood guard the proceeding of the election of General Khalifa.
Prominent faces like Reyaz Khan, Mintu, Sonu Siddiqui, Atif, Kalam, Wasim Khan and others were present during the election of General Khalifa.
