Ranchi, July 20: Hotel chain Marriott International Inc in collaboration with BeeKay Group will set up three new hotels in Ranchi and one each in Maithon and Deoghar in the next few years paving way for realising Jharkhand’s real tourism potential.

On Monday last, Marriott signed an agreement with BeeKay Group in Mumbai for bringing four new hotels to Jharkhand and one in West Bengal. There is already an agreement signed between the two in 2021 for setting up Courtyard by Marriott in Ranchi.

“Courtyard by Marriott Ranchi on Kanke road is almost ready. It has 114 rooms. We are planning to launch the hotel this fiscal followed by other Marriott International hotels in the next few years,” BeeKay Group CMD Bishnu Kumar Agarwal told lagatar24.com.

The new deal includes bringing the Paris-born Le Meridien brand to Ranchi. The 175 key hotel forms part of a mixed-use project that combines residential, retail and office development allowing easy access to business hubs and tourist attractions in the city.

“Le Meridien is coming up on Gymkhana Club land,” said Agarwal. Located at around 10 kms from Birsa Munda Airport, the hotel is expected to open in 2025.

Another hotel, Fairfield by Marriott Ranchi is coming up in south-western part of the city near the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) stadium. It will have 128 rooms and suites, and is likely to open in 2025, Marriott International said in a statement.

The American multinational hotel operator will further bring its Fairfield by Marriott hotels in tourist destination Maithon (Dhanbad district) and in temple city Deoghar. Fairfield by Marriott is a franchised economy to midscale hotel brand of Marriott International.

While the hotel in Deoghar, eight minutes away from the newly inaugurated Deoghar airport, is expected to open in 2025, the one in Maithon will open in 2026. It will be 4 kms away from the popular Maithon Dam and walking distance from Barakar River.

“With this multi-agreement signing, we are looking to urbanize and enter emerging business locations, in some of the most commercially and culturally important cities of the East,” said Rajeev Menon, President Asia Pacific (excluding Greater China), Marriott International.
