Ranchi, July 21: Congress party workers on Thursday staged a demonstration outside the ED office on Birsa Munda Airport Road in Hinoo in the state capital to protest against the ED questioning party president Sonia Gandhi.
Before the party workers staged the demonstration, they took out a march from the old assembly ground to the ED office raising slogans like “Jab Jab Modi Darta Hai, ED ko Aage Karta Hai”, “Modi, Amit Shah, Smriti Irani Sharma Je Ho Ja Pani Panu” and several others.
Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee Organisation Sashaktikaran Abhiyan convenor Alok Kumar Dubey, participating in the demonstration, was heard taking strong exception to question his party leader.
“The way Congress office in Delhi has been converted into a police cantonment from all sides and entry of Congress workers and media has been stopped since this morning is quite unfortunate. The Gandhi family who donated their entire property to the country is being harassed by placing the National Herald in front of them just because Sonia Gandhi is the President of the Indian National Congress. It is an attempt to tarnish their image by accusing them of money laundering,” Dubey said.
Other congressmen who had come from different parts of the state presented a similar view.
Proper security arrangement was made during the demonstration. SP (city) Anshuman Kumar said the demonstration remained peaceful and so far no FIR has been registered in this connection.
