New Delhi, Aug 2: One of the largest worldwide Indian film festivals, the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, has recently announced the nominees for its annual awards ceremony. The leading actors and directors/producers of movies like Jai Bhim, The Rapist, Gangubai Kathiwadi, 83, Badhaai Do, and Sardar Udham, among others, are among this year’s notable nominations.

Another noteworthy aspect is that the Best Film winner is immediately nominated for the Best Asian Film category at the famous AACTA annual awards ceremony (Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards). In 2021, IFFM added streaming platforms as prize categories in keeping with the trends. These honours will be given alongside the Best Series, Best Actor in a Series, and Best Actress in a Series this year as well.

The yearly festival, which is sponsored by the Victorian Government, is held in Melbourne, Australia. It features the best movies from India and the subcontinent. The 13th edition of the IFFM 2022, which will take place this month, marks the festival’s return to a tangible format after two years of only being available online.
