Ranchi, Aug 2: The Sahibganj police on Tuesday secured two days’ remand of stone mining businessman Prakash Chandra Yadav from the Rajmahal court. The SDJM court of Hasimuddin Warish granted the permission to the police to question Prakash Chandra Yadav in the 2022 Arms Act case.

The Sahibganj police arrested him from the Birsa Munda airport premises on Friday last when he was returning to Patna after meeting a top politician of Santhal Pargana.

His name cropped up after the Enforcement Directorate started investigation into the illegal stone mining scam in Santhal Pargana. In this case, the ED arrested Pankaj Mishra. The ED also summoned Prakash Chandra Yadav for the verification of certain facts and documents. These facts and documents are related to a couple of FIRs he had lodged against Pankaj Mishra, Sahibganj DMO Bibhuti Kumar, Dahu Yadav and some senior railway officials on the charge of illegally lifting his stone boulders and transporting them through railway without challan.

Besides, there is a case related to Prakash Chandra Yadav related to denial to operate his cargo ship in the river Ganga.  The matter is pending before the Jharkhand High court.

However, his son Ankush Chandra Yadav appeared before the ED and recorded his statement.
