New Delhi, Aug 6: The deputy chief of Taiwan’s defence ministry’s research and development branch Ou Yang Li-hsing, who was found dead in a hotel room on Saturday morning, died of a heart attack according to the official Central News Agency.
Ou Yang Li-hsing, the deputy chairman of the National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology, which is owned by the military, was discovered dead in a hotel room in southern Taiwan early on Saturday, according to CNA.
The institute in a statement published on its website said Ouyang was found unconscious on Saturday morning at a hotel in Hengchun, Pingtung County.
“Forensic examination found that the cause of death was myocardial infarction and angina pectoris,” it said.
Earlier this year, Ouyang was appointed to his position and given the responsibility of overseeing “the production of various types of missiles,” according to CNA.
His passing occurs as Beijing moves on with drills simulating a blockade and eventual invasion of the democratic island after Nancy Pelosi’s visit infuriated the Chinese leadership.
