Ranchi, Aug 7: For the first time after its inception, Ranchi University has finalized 18 lecturers for Mundari at once. Notably, the senate of the university took the decision and approved the proposal to appoint the 18 recommendations from the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC).
The decision was taken at the emergency meeting of the University senate under the chairmanship of VC Ajit Kumar Sinha.
Notably, for more than three decades, teachers were not appointed in the Mundari language. Therefore classes were conducted by ad-hoc or contractual teachers. With the availability of permanent teachers, academic activity is hoped to gain momentum.
Due to the scarcity of permanent teachers, scholars were unable to get guides for research even after passing NET, and JRF in the subject as only a permanent teachers can conduct research under themselves. The VC further announced the beginning of the Har Ghar Tiranga programme from August 13 to 15 by presenting the national flag mementos to the syndicate members. ProVC Prof Kamini Kumar, DSW Dr RK Sharma, Registrar Dr Mukund Mehta along with other members of the Syndicate were present on the occasion.
In the light of the recommendation of JPSC, approval has been given for the appointment of 18 Assistant Professors including Birender Kumar Soy, Karam Singh Munda, Albina Jojo, Isbella Horo, Sabran Singh Munda, Savitri Kumari, Marshal Purti, Karam Singh Oreya, Indira Kongari, Lakhinder Munda, Juran Singh Manki, Basudev Hasa, Kishore Surin, Jai Muni, Vishweshwar Munda , Parvati Munda, Khatri Hembram and Ajit Munda.
