Ranchi, Aug.13: The Delhi Police have arrested three with fake currency worth approximately Rs 3.75 lakh.

Arresting took place in the morning from Pirutola Konki under the Pithoria police station area after the sleuth of Delhi Police in civil dress investigating fake currency racket came to light after arresting a youth in Delhi.

S.P.(rural) Naushad Alam confirmed the arrest saying the Delhi Police had a tough time in the course of arresting the accused.

“Since the Delhi Police personnel were in civil dress and none of the local police personnel was with them, villagers mistook them as abductors. When the matter came before me I alerted Pithoria police and thereafter the Delhi Police could arrest them,” S.P.(rural) Alam said.

Asked how come the Delhi police got a clue, a police official said when a youth was arrested in Delhi with fake currency he named Tasavur Ansari, a Konki resident, as the supplier. Getting the clue from there, the Delhi Police reached Ranchi. Delhi Police officials did not inform the local police fearing leakage of information.

Out of three arrested persons, one is from Barwa while other two are from Garhwa and Pithoria.
