DSPMU receives more applications for UG courses than Ranchi University

Kolhan University has maximum number of applications for admission

Ranchi, Aug 24: The Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University has surpassed Ranchi University in terms of the number of applications submitted for admission in undergraduate courses in the session of 2022-2026.

Notably, DSPMU has received a total of 24,272 applications till now, making the university number two in the state. At the same time, Ranchi University is third in the state with 19,642 applications for admissions.

DSPMU PRO Rajesh Singh said, “We started the admissions process at the beginning of the month. The first provisional list of enrollment in 20 subjects has been released. Students can see the list on the website of the university.”

He further said, “The enrollment of the students included in the first list will be done from August 21 to 28. The first provisional list has subjects including Anthropology, Bangla, Economics, Ho, Khadia, Khortha, Kurmali, Maths A, Mundari, Nagpuri, PanchPargania, Santhali, Sociology, Chemistry, Maths, Account, Environmental Science and Information Technology.”

Meanwhile, Ranchi University Registrar Mukund Chandra Mehta said, “Admissions are still undergoing and will end on August 31. The date to release the admission list will be selected after then.”

Kolhan University (KU), on the other hand, has become the state’s number one university in terms of applications for enrollment in the UG first semester. So far 36,500 applications have been submitted here.

Other universities including Binod Bihari Mahato Koylanchal University is in the fourth position in the state with 14,260 applications while Jamshedpur Women’s University has the fifth position with 4,425 applications.

Kolhan University is to publish its first final list on August 25. The university has given instructions to the principals and enrollment in-charges at all colleges to speed up the enrollment process after the publication of the list.

Notably, universities in the state are to implement the new education policy under which undergraduate courses will be four-year-long.
