Explaining its history of it, Biswas further added, “After the war, on one hand, the world was trying to adjust to the newness, and advancement, while on the other hand, the Cold War began between the US and Russia. He further explained how it began the era of the global arms race and the disorder in the world that followed the war due to ideologies.

He also explained the reason behind the power struggle between India and Pakistan, the emergence of organisations like SEATO, NATO, African Union, Shanghai Corporation, among others. He talked of the economical, technological and social shift that India went through then.

He talked of the war of 1971 with Pakistan, the Indian pact with USSR, rise of China, its claim on Indian land, and work done by it around India to gather help. He further, through his own experience of being a native of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, explained the difference between relations of Army and Kashmiris; and the Army and Andamanese & Nicobaris.

VC Shandilya, while addressing the audience explained the importance of economical and political dimensions for understanding of global order and disorder. Convener Reena Nand of the Department of Public Administration explained the issue to be discussed and its importance in the Indian context.
