Ranchi, Aug 31: The Company that carried out the controlled demolition of the 103-meter-long Twin Towers of the Supertech group in Noida’s Sector-93, Edifice Engineering, has now been given a new contract. Edifice Engineering has been given the job to demolish a 110-meter-long chimney in Jamshedpur.

“This will be another controlled demolition… We cannot divulge the details of our clients. The structure is taller than the Twin Towers,” said Mayur Mehta, project manager of the Twin Towers demolition.

The placing of explosives in the enormous chimney will begin with charging in November. Soon, the precise date of the controlled demolition will be made public.

Notably, the Twin Towers were demolished on August 28 by Edifice Engineering from India and Jet Demolition from South Africa. The Emerald Court residential community was only metres away from the structures, and ATS Village was only 15 metres away. The adjacent buildings sustained only little damage as the building collapsed inward, with each storey falling onto the one below.
