Youth gets washed away at Hundru Falls, paryatak mitra saves girl

Ranchi, Sept 20: A youth got washed away at the Hundru Falls, a tourist destination near the state capital.

The incident took place around noon when the youth, Ritik Kumar Sahu (19), resident of Chandwe under Pithoria police station area and student of Prem Chand Inter College, accompanied by four other boys and a girl went for sightseeing.

“Sahu and a girl, who was a student of RTC Inter College, Tannu Kumari, slipped into the water. Before a Paryatak Mitra (tourist friend) could swing into action, Sahu got washed away in the water while the girl was saved. The girl sustained injuries and was admitted at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS),” a local resident said.

“Sahu is yet to be found,” the resident added.
