Jharkhand’s Sachin Rana to coach Indian junior badminton team in Haryana camp

Dhanbad, Sept 26: Sachin Rana of Jamshedpur has been appointed chief coach of the national coaching camp for the India junior badminton team to be held at Tau Devilal Sports Complex Sector-3 Panchkula, Haryana from September 29 to October 13.

Badminton Association of India (BAI) general secretary Sanjay Mishra has informed Jharkhand Badminton Association regarding the national responsibility to Sachin Rana to train the Indian team at a special camp for the World Junior Badminton Championship 2022  to be held in Madrid, Spain from October 17 to October 30.

Chief coach Sachin Rana along with three other Upendra Singh Rana (SAI coach), Anil Kumar Nigam and Aravindam S (Tamil Nadu) would impart training to 18  players at the camp who were selected based on a junior selection trial held at Raipur (Chhattisgarh) from August 12 to August 15.

The ace coach Sachin Rana, who has already discharged his responsibility as Indian team coach in junior and senior World Badminton Championship, Asian Championship and more than 10 international tournaments abroad in the last five years, has made Jharkhand’s mark in the coaching field of the country.

Besides the team, he has also the credit of making world champion. He was the bench coach of Lakshya Sen who won the singles title in the Junior World Badminton Championship in Jakarta (Thailand ) in 2018.

The officials of the Jharkhand Badminton Association and East Singhbhum District Association have congratulated Sachin Rana and said that it is a matter of pride for Jharkhand.

JBA president Deepak Verma, Secretary K Prabhakar Rao (who is also national chairman of Paralympic badminton), joint secretary Ranjit Ray, East Singhbhum president Rupesh Katiyar, Saraikela-Kharsawan district president Rajesh Sahu, treasurer Awadhesh Kumar have congratulated Sachin.

Avinash Tiwary, the convener of the Jharkhand Badminton Technical Official Committee, said that Sachin Rana has already established his coaching knack at the national level and this assignment (national camp) will encourage sports lovers of the state more.
