Ranchi, Sept 28: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) Sarkaryavah (national secretary) Dattatreya Hosabale today asked the Swayamsevaks to maintain the tradition of providing self-less service to the nation in a programme organized at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University ground at Morabadi, Ranchi.

For selfless service, he suggested that Swayamsevaks take aspiration from the lives of freedom fighters like Chandra Shekhar Azad and others who never thought about themselves while fighting against British rule during war of Independence.

He also quoted lines of RSS songs like “Desh Hame Deta Hai Sabh Kuch Hum Bhi to Kuch Dena Sikhe” and “Tan Samarpit Man Samarpit Aur Yah Jeevan Samarpit” besides others to take aspiration to maintain the tradition of sacrifice.

Talking about challenges before nation building exercise, he said path is full of thorns but at the same time, he said without completing the exercise it is difficult to establish the Hindu ideology of ‘Vashudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (entire world is a family) in real sense.

He asked them to keep Hindu sentiment alive as according to him it is difficult to give country immunity from different types of problem.

‘Hindu Bhaw Ko Jab Jab Bhule, Aayi Vipatti Mahan, Bhai Chute Dharti Tuti Mite Dharm Sansthan (whenever we forget Hindu sentiment we faced trouble. Our brothers got separated, land got divided and religious institutions disappeared,” he said quoting a line from RSS song.

He also asked Swayamsevaks to play their pro active role to maintain harmony in the society and neutralize the forces dividing the country and its people on the basis of caste, creed, religion, region and language.

“Vividhta Ke Karan Hum Alag Nahi (we are not different due to our diversity),” he said.

Talking about importance of Hindu sentiment, he said Hindus are those who have experienced God everywhere. “Manav Pashu Giri Taru Sarita Mein Ek Brahma Ko Pahchana Hai (identified one Brahma in human being, animals, mountains, trees and river),” he said.

Earlier, before the Sarkaryavah addressed the crowd, it rained cats and dogs but the Swayamsevaks from different parts of Ranchi turned up in full uniform. The audience included BJP legislature party chief Babulal Marandi, Ranchi MLA CP Singh, Hatia MLA Naveen Jaiswal besides others.

Born on December 1, 1954 Hosabale during the period of Emergency from 1975 to 1977, he was arrested under the Maintenance of Internal Security Act (MISA) and imprisoned for 16 months. Earlier he has also served as the general secretary for the student organization, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) for 15 years.
