Dhanbad, Oct 6: A delegation of contractual Ayush doctors of the state will meet Chief Minister Hemant Soren on October 10 for a change in age regulations of the appointments so that the 2013 batch of Ayush doctors could get a fair deal.

Bermo Congress MLA Jaimangal Singh alias Anup Singh has lined up the meeting of the contractual Ayush doctors of state with the CM over the issue. He has also extended his support to the demand.

Notably, the state government has issued an advertisement for the appointment of 422 Ayush doctors under the National Rural Health Mission (NHRM) in the state. Since the age of some of the contractual doctors, who have been working in the health department since 2013, has crossed the limitation fixed in the advertisement, they are demanding a change in the age regulation in the appointment.

On Tuesday (October 4), a delegation of the contractual Ayush doctors met Congress’ Bermo MLA Anup Singh and urged him to pursue their demand before the government so that they could get justice.

“Anup Singh not only supported our demand but also assured to line up a meeting with the chief minister at Ranchi on October 10,” said the delegation members.

Dr Sanjay Kumar, Dr Ravishankar, Dr Shamsuddin and Dr Saket Dey were the members of the delegation that met the Bermo Cong MLA for support.

Since in 2013, the then health minister Rajendra Prasad Singh (father of Anup Singh) had regularized the jobs of over 200 contractual Allopathic doctors after making major amendments in the regulations, the Ayush doctors want the same types of changes in the regulations for them in 2022.

They believe that an initiation by Anup Singh would help them in presenting their case before the government properly and they will be able to convince them.

In 2013, total of 32 Ayush doctors were appointed on a contractual basis across the state to cater for the requirement. Now, when the government has issued an advertisement for over 400 regular posts, some of them, who have been working since 2013, miss the age eligibility for a few years to sit at the JPSC examination.

Contractual Ayush doctors demand their working period should be counted in the regular appointments.
