Deoghar police arrest four in minor girl gang-rape case

Deoghar, Oct 12: The Deoghar police arrested four men for raping a minor girl in the presence of her mother near Bahadurpur on NH-114 in the Pathrol police station area of Deoghar.

Mazhar Sheikh (32), Farmuddin (32), Tanzim Sheikh (30), and Sajid Sheikh (22) were among those detained.

Deoghar SP Subash Chandra Jatt confirmed the breakthrough, saying that two of the four arrested were arrested yesterday and two were arrested today.

The incident occurred on Sunday night when the girl accompanied by her mother was returning from Sirsa village in the Pathrol police station area on foot after failing to obtain a vehicle for transportation.

The girl was a dancer who had travelled to Sirsa to perform at the birth of a baby in exchange for money. However, the function was cancelled for unknown reasons, and the organiser dropped the girl and her mother near Pathrol Chowk.

As per information, when the girl and her mother approached Bahadurpur, miscreants dragged them into the forest and raped the minor in front of her mother. Mother was assaulted after she raised an objection.

The accused managed to flee the scene after committing rape. The victim emerged from the jungle, and fortunately, an auto passing by assisted them in being taken to Madhupur police station, where they told the police their story and requested proper legal action. The Deoghar SP while talking to the lagatar24.com correspondent confirmed the incident of assault and said that the police are conducting a proper probe into the matter.

The victims were taken to the Sub-divisional Hospital late at night. The girl was then referred to Deoghar Sadar Hospital for further treatment.
