Daltonganj, November 5: Rehla police in Palamu at a press conference by Palamu SP Chandan Kumar Sinha claimed that they have cracked the shootout case of Amit Kumar Singh. Singh, who is a director of a local school was shot twice in the abdomen on October 30.
Rehla police on Saturday presented two adults accused of the shootout while the two juveniles involved in the case were kept off the media persons at the press conference.
Rehla police have recovered one revolver, three katta, seventeen live cartridges and the bike used in the shootout.
The two adult accused have been identified as Nagender Sharma and Sugriv Oraon., while the names of the juveniles have not been released in accordance with the PoCSo act.
The two adult accused have been remanded in judicial custody while the juveniles were handed over to the juvenile justice board on Saturday.
This shootout was planned and got executed by Nagender Sharma as revenge for a road accident in November 2021. Notably, Sharma had lost his son Ravikant, a class 12 student in an accident with the school bus of Singh’s school.
Police said Sharma and Singh were at daggers drawn since November 2021.
The father tried to avenge the death of his son only to be caught and jailed for an attempt to murder.
Meanwhile, Sugriv Oraon was promised hefty cash for killing Singh but he failed, got caught and was jailed with Sharma.
Officer in charge Nemdhari Rajak and his team under the leadership of the inspector of police Ajay Kumar Singh cracked the case in a week.
Notably, both Singh and his attacker Sharma hail from the Garhwa district. Singh runs a school under Palamu district’s Rehla.
