MANOJ SINHA

Ramgarh, Nov 8: The Gulab Sakhi Mahila Mandal opened a chemical-free pesticide production unit in the Lolo village in Ramgarh district under the FRDP project funded by HDFC Bank and operated by KGVK.

The farmers present on the occasion said that under the FRDP project, chemical-free farming and entrepreneurship development are being promoted among the farmers of rural areas by giving them training, which has proved to be a boon for the crops.

Babita Kumari, Karmi Devi and Salo Devi associated with this unit told that they were trained to make chemical-free insecticides Agni Vana, and Divyastra by KGVK. After this, they decided to make both insecticides and sell them.

Project manager Somen Mahto said that given the danger to humans and the environment due to the increasing chemical effects, the use of chemical-free insecticide will prove beneficial for farmers and entrepreneurs.

Many farmers including Anoop Kumar Upadhyay, Kartik Kumar, Pinky Devi, Suraj Munda, Naresh Mahato, and Sumitra Devi were present on the occasion.
