Chhattisgarh: I-T dept raids premises of industrialist, his employee

Raigarh, Nov 9: In Sattigudi Chowk in Chhattisgarh’s Raigarh, the Income Tax department conducted raids on an industrialist’s home and factory on Wednesday.

According to the information, Sanjay Agarwal, an industrialist, currently has a large number of IT officers at his home and factory. The IT detectives are also present at one of his employee’s home.

After a series of search and seizure operations on 50 properties in various states, the IT department of Jharkhand earlier on Tuesday recovered Rs 2 crore in cash, Rs 100 crore in unaccounted investments/transactions, and a total of 16 bank vaults that were restrained.

On November 4, 2022, these raids were conducted against a few business organisations involved in the selling and transportation of coal, the performance of civil contracts, the extraction of iron ore, and the production of sponge iron. Two people who were politically exposed and their associates were among those who were searched.

More than 50 locations across Ranchi, Godda, Bermo, Dumka, Jamshedpur, Chaibasa, Patna, Gurugram, and Kolkata were searched.
