Jharkhand Higher Education Secretary meets DSPMU officials, reviews infrastructure

Ranchi, Nov 25: The Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University, Ranchi officials met Rahul Purwar, Secretary, Department of Higher and Technical Education for the inspection of the state-of-the-art stadium and to discuss infrastructure and other educational problems. On the occasion, Secretary Purwar also met with teachers of the science faculty of DSPMU and checked out the newly inaugurated building of the university.

In this sequence, he discussed various administrative points with Vice Chancellor Dr Tapan Kumar Shandilya and Registrar Dr Namita Singh. Before this, the Secretary interacted with the teachers of Science Faculty in the presence of the VC and registrar. During this, the teachers present put forward the issues related to upgrading the laboratories of science faculties, appointment of lab technicians, laboratory assistants.

In the course of mutual dialogue with Secretary Purwar, it was unanimously agreed upon that an instrumentation center for Physical and Chemical Sciences and a separate instrumentation center for Life Sciences should be established in the university.

Apart from this, it was also decided that provisions related to scholarships be brought for the research scholars of the university. Secretary Purwar said promised to consider the points and assured complete cooperation from the government.

Vice Chancellor Dr Tapan Kumar Shandilya said that apart from government cooperation, the university is working on all these issues at its own level and the ultimate goal is how to increase the quality of the university. He said that soon the lack of basic infrastructure would be removed. After this, the Higher Education Secretary inspected the newly constructed academic administrative and examination building along with the university administration, gave his suggestions on other important basic points related to the construction of the sports ground and spoke of full cooperation. On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Tapan Kumar Shandilya, Registrar Namita Singh and teachers of the Faculty of Science were present. This information was given by the PRO of the University, Prof. Rajesh Kumar Singh.
