Ranchi, Dec.1: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday raided Sweety Palace located in the Sagar police station area of Sahibganj district. The raid was in relation to the illegal mining case.
It is being said that this land belonged to a woman and Dahu Yadav, who is accused of money laundering, usurped it. The woman lodged a complaint before the ED after which a team took this action.
Notably, Dahu and Sunil Yadav along with Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s MLA representative Pankaj Mishra are accused of illegal mining, illegal transportation and illegal operation of ships on river Ganga in Sahibganj. They are still at large even after the issuance of warrants against them from the PLMA court.
In the past, ED had not only raided the bases of the accused but also seized their vessel. The agency had also sent summons to both the accused thrice for questioning, but they did not appear after which the ED requested the special ED court in Ranchi to issue an arrest warrant on October 22. The court permitted this on October 29.
It is alleged that Dahu Yadav used to run the steamer of M/s Infralink Logistics Private Limited illegally.
The ED has seized Infralink’s steamer in connection with the March 23 accident and illegal stone chips transportation. It was run under the supervision of Dahu Yadav and his brother Sunil Yadav. Pankaj Mishra is accused of extorting Rs 500 per truck from trucks carrying stone chips with the help of steamers.
Bachchu Yadav had accepted this in his statement given to ED. Apart from illegal mining ED had also accepted case numbers 63/21, 28/22 and 29/22 registered against Dahu Yadav and Sunil Yadav under section 307 of IPC and section 27 of the Arms Act.
