Ranchi PMLA court rejects discharge petition of Pooja Singhal’s CA

Ranchi, Dec.17:  The PMLA court in Jharkhand capital today rejected the discharge petition of ED accused chartered accountant (CA) Suman Kumar.

Kumar works for another ED accused Abhishek Jha, who is husband of Jharkhand’s suspended IAS officer and yet another ED accused Pooja Singhal.

The CA had filed a discharge petition on November 2. After hearing all sides, the court had reserved its judgment in the case on December 12.

After the court rejected the discharge petition it is expected that the court will soon start hearing on the point of framing of charges against the accused.

Earlier during the hearing, the ED was told that there was concrete evidence to frame the charges against the CA. The court was told that during the raid in his residence and office, ED got a huge amount.

Suman Kumar is accused of helping Pooja Singhal in laundering money earned by MNREGA scam and involving Rs 17 crore 49 lakh 87 thousand 200 rupees. An amount of Rs 29.70 lakh was recovered from his locations in the ED raid.
