Dhanbad, Dec 20: Barkagaon MLA Amba Prasad and former Jharkhand state Congress president Sukhdeo Bhagat have been inducted as the new faces in Rashtriya Khadan Mazdoor Federation (RKMF) new committee.
RKMF is the frontal miners’ organization of the All India Congress Party. The new 21-member committee was announced with Bermo MLA Jayamangal Singh alias Anup Singh elected as president and SQ Jama of NCW Nagpur general secretary at the national convention at Bhubaneswar.
Amba Prasad and former state president Sukhdeo Bhagat have been inducted as senior vice presidents. Former MLA Yogendra Sao, the father of Amba Prasad, was also a senior office-bearer in the Federation. In his place, Amba Prasad has been made senior vice president.
Besides them, former minister Mannan Mallick, Brajendra Prasad Singh (Congress State Disciplinary Committee chairman), veteran trade union leader AK Jha and Girjashankar Pandey were also elected as senior vice-presidents.
Meanwhile, Saubhagya Pradhan and KS Saksawat became the new secretary and Santosh Mahto continued as the treasurer of the committee.
All these leaders were also figured in the previous committee headed by the late minister and Federation president Rajendra Prasad Singh. After his death, his son Jayamangal Singh alias Anup Singh took the helm of RKMF and Rashtriya Colliery Mazdoor Sangh (now Union).
Senior vice-president AK Jha when contacted said that the new committee would be expanded soon.
Federation’s national president Anup Singh announced that there is a need to protest against the wrong coal industry policy of the central government and the federation would launch massive agitation for the genuine rights of the miners.
