Dhanbad Dec 22: Dhanbad POCSO court on Thursday awarded a 20-year jail sentence to a youth for abducting a minor girl for marriage in a two-year-old case.
Notably, POCSO Court special judge Prabhakar Singh while hearing the case held the accused Krishan Lohar guilty and sentenced a 20 year-jail term. Apart from it, the court also slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on the accused.
The APP said that six witnesses were crossed examined during the trial.
Moreover, Police filed a charge sheet against the accused in court on April 21, 2020. The court fixed the charge against the accused and began trial on May 7, 2022.
As per the FIR lodged in Dhansar police station by the mother of the victim on January 17, 2020, her daughter went out of the house with her mobile phone without informing in the early morning. Family members searched her all around but did not find her. They got information that neighbour Krishna Lohar took her away to Shekhpura (Bihar).
Dhanbad police on basis of mobile location recovered her in Shekhpura from the house of Santosh Kumar on January 22, 2020. The victim’s mother filed an FIR at the Dhansar police station Dhanbad against Krishan on January 23, 2020.
