Dhanbad, Dec 23: Police on Friday recovered the body of a student of DAV College Bhaga under a slab near the Jealgora Nehru Stadium of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) under the Jorapokhar police station. The deceased was identified as Santosh Yadav.
Santosh Yadav, the son of Digwadih Baluline resident Dhuna Yadav, was missing since Thursday afternoon.
His mobile phone was also found in his pocket. On the basis of the mobile CDR, the Jorapokhar police searched for Santosh and found the body behind the Jealgora Nehru Stadium under a slab.
Jorapokhar police station officer-in-charge Rajdev Singh said that the body has been sent for postmortem to Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital, Dhanbad.
“After getting a written complaint from the family, the police would begin an investigation in the case,” the OC said.
However, the deceased’s father expressed apprehension that it was not an accident but that someone had killed his son after calling him.
“Santosh went out of the house at around 1 pm after getting a phone call. When he did not return till evening, I called him to ask his whereabouts. Despite continuous ringing, he did not receive it. So we informed the Jorapokhar police station,“ said Dhanu Yadav.
The Mobile CDR gave Santosh’s location near Jealgora Nehru Stadium and police searched on the same night but failed to detect anyone. However, on Friday morning, after getting information from local residents, the police reached the spot and found the body under the slab.
