Daltonganj, Dec 28: The man-eating leopard in Garhwa killed a 10 year old boy on Wednesday evening under Ramkanda block. With this, the toll of human lives lost to the leopard has gone to three.

Moreover, the leopard had killed a boy and had half eaten him on December 14 and similarly on December 19, it killed a girl but couldn’t eat her.

The 10-year-old boy was saved from eating by the leopard by the family and villagers. All the three casualties are children.

Principal chief conservator of forest and chief wildlife warden Jharkhand Shashikar Samanta has confirmed the casualty of the boy. Samanta said the family had just let its guard down and the innocent was killed by the leopard.

He said, “Today I am in Delhi. Let me return to Ranchi. I will take a stern decision to get rid of this leopard.”

He said it is time now to most stringently deal with the leopard.

Lagatar24.com tried calling the conservator of forest Garhwa Dileep Kumar Yadav but he didn’t take the calls.

Principal chief conservator of forest and chief wildlife warden Jharkhand Shashikar Samanta was apprised of the gross indifference of forest officer Yadav to news man’s calls in such hours of human tragedy caused by wild life when people want to know the fact.
