New Delhi, Dec 29: Microblogging platform Twitter has suffered a massive outage, leaving many users unable to access the popular social media platform. Twitter was down for thousands of users on Wednesday.

Downdetector, which tracks website outages, said it had received more than 8,700 user reports of problems with the website as of 7:30 am EST (12:30 pm GMT).

“User reports indicate Twitter is having problems since 7:13 EST,” Downdetector said in a tweet.

Over 10,000 users have reported issues with accessing the social media website in the United States as of 7:40 pm ET. While some users said they were getting logged out automatically, others complained that their Twitter notifications were not working.

Some were greeted with the message that Twitter had exceeded its capacity.

As per information, this is the third time that Twitter has been down ever since Elon Musk took over as the CEO of the company.

The error message played out despite refreshing multiple times. Downdetector is a platform that tracks websites across the globe and gives an estimate of whether a website is working or not.

After hours of technical glitches since Wednesday, Twitter slowly crawled back up on Thursday morning.
