New Delhi, Jan 2: A midair collision between two helicopters has left four people dead and three others in serious condition in Australia, authorities said on Monday.
On the Gold Coast, south of Brisbane, close to the well-known tourist area of Main Beach, the crash took place around 2:00 p.m. local time.
According to Queensland Ambulance Service’s Jayney Shearman, there were 13 persons on the two helicopters (QAS). Four of them died, three were seriously hurt, while six only had minor wounds like scrapes from shattered glass.
All the injured had been taken to hospital. Further details awaited.
