Jamshedpur, Jan 6: South Eastern Railway (SER) provided medical help and assistance to a woman passenger from Jharkhand suffering from a head injury who was travelling by 18452 Puri-Hatia Tapaswini Express on January 4.
Amit Ranjan, husband of the victim called on Railway Helpline No 139 and complained that some co-passengers attacked his wife and caused a head injury during a scuffle with him. He also requested RPF and medical assistance during the phone call.
After receiving the complaint, the office of the ministry of railways took immediate cognizance and the complainant was contacted for details of the incident.
Amit Ranjan and his wife Varsha were provided with RPF assistance and a medical facility at the next station Bano under the jurisdiction of South Eastern Railway.
They were also provided assistance to Hatia station for their comfortable and safe journey. Simultaneously, the accused was taken into custody and handed over to the GRP at Hatia police station.
Later, Ranjan appreciated the immediate action taken by the Railways and RPF.
